The 45th Mangum Rattlesnake Derby is in the books. We appreciate all the hunters, vendors, customers, volunteers, and town-folk that made this year a success. We have already started preparing and planning for next year!
March 23, 2010:
The advertisements for the 45th Annual Mangum Rattlesnake Derby are now available to be picked up. Also, the 2009 winners are not included with the other winning Derby contestants. The Schedule of Events has also been updated to reflect this year's schedule.
March 10, 2010:
A .pdf document has been added under "Hunter Caravans" consisting of all Derby winners from 1966-2008. Also, it seems as if the Oklahoma winter is ending, which means, the Spring! Spring brings showers, flowers, song birds, Easter, and Rattlesnake Hunting. March 1st marked the first day of "rattlesnake season." However, the weather is just now getting nice enough to allow rattlers to migrate from their winter dens to bathe in the warm sunlight. Good luck to any early hunters, and BE SAFE!

March 7, 2010:
Pictures have been added to the Safari Bus Tour, Derby Princess, About Us, Square Dancing, and Longest Snake pages. Also, a youtube video featuring the band has been added to the Live Concert Page. In addition, the Derby Princess page features hyperlinks to past derby princesses. Currently, only the 2008 and 2009 princesses have been added to the database. Hopefully, we will be able to at least feature a biography of each past derby winner.
The onset of March marks what we call the "Derby" Season. Therefore, we will have weekly meetings in order to finalize all necessary business before the Derby. Also, this year's tabloids are almost ready for disbursement. The Derby is only two months away!

This year, the Rick Babek Band will play live at the Mangum Rattlesnake Derby. Band information can be found by either clicking the above photo or clicking "Live Concert" on the left navigation bar.
February 27, 2010:
The 45th Annual Mangum Rattlesnake Derby is only two months away! We have just finished a massive site overhaul. Hopefully, this new layout will be more user friendly than the previous layout.
At the top of the page, the vendor information link has useful information for prospective vendors. Eventually, all necessary documents will be found on the vendor information page. Currently, a list of the rules governing the flea market, a map of the flea market, and a schedule of events is posted. More documents will be added in the near future.
I would like to direct your attention to the Other Important Links section. There, you will find useful links about Mangum, including Mangum's newspaper. The newspaper would be a useful tool to use to get to know the people of Mangum, as well as Mangum itself.
